Box Suitcase

Gather together all the things that you need to make your Box Suitcase.

Take the cardboard cereal box and make a hole in each corner using a pencil. You will need to ask an adult to help you with this as it's a bit tricky. Now use the holes to help you cut three lines so you end up with a flap that opens. Be careful as scissors are sharp.

To make the handles of the suitcase take the two spongy kitchen cloths and cut them into two strips. Now stick the two straps to the suitcase with some sticky tape but leave one strap unstuck as this will be where you open the suitcase. With the end of the strap that is not stuck down stick one of the sticky fastners to it. Stick the other sticky fastner to the box and make sure they meet up and the box closes.

Now you need to cover the suitcase in a layer of tissue paper and a special gloopy mixture that's made up of half gloopy glue and half water. Then stick ripped up tissue paper to the suitcase. Leave to dry. Then paint the suitcase any colour you like. You could paint brown squares on the corners and brown on the strap and the handle. Once the paint is dry add detail to the suitcase using the black and silver pens. You can make all sorts of Box Suitcases.
